Haven’t been to church in so long you don’t really know how to dress conservatively? Don’t know what to wear for that expensive unlimited Bloody Mary Bar Brunch you’re attending instead of church (No judgment!)? Did you literally just google search onto this page whilst hungover and have to meet your strict, old-fashioned parents in 20 minutes for a fancy lunch? Well, here’s our new series, the borderline fab Guide to Style (combining our love of dressing up for non-occasions and themed, well, any-thing!). Our first post in this series is aimed to get you through Easter weekend. (Hopefully fully dressed and chocolate-wasted).
alice wears: f21 dress | nine west heels | dooney & bourke cross-over bag
similar lace dress | long sleeve shift, open back, and with pleats versions
similar orange heels | solid orange or color-block versions
tips: cream colours and lace are your best friends for this holiday. Keep it from being too poufy and add a dramatic heel to stay conservative yet not look like a 12-year-old child clutching the Velveteen Rabbit.
christine wears: urban outfitters kimchi blue dress | zara heels | bear yorkshire terrier
similar maxi dress | floral maxi or deep u maxi versions
similar cut-out shoes | pointed heel, wedge, and black strappy versions
tips: serious in the front, party in the back. who says we can’t have it all. a dark pastel is great at this midi length to take you from church to an evening out for easter-themed cotton-candytinis. (adults celebrate too!). puppy not included.
gina wears: arden b dress | zara heels | zara blazer
similar maxi dress | strappy back version
similar strappy sandals | contrast lined, mid-block heel, and white low-heel versions
similar tweed blazer | oversized cardigan and blazer versions
tips: a solid colour scheme is so easy anyone can do it, even you. (now brew some coffee and take a cold shower, you have a brunch at the montage to rush to!). and throw on a blazer so you don’t look like a hobo!
The Easter ensemble usually involves wearing one’s Sunday best to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Frankly, anyone coming back from the dead deserves a holiday in our book (anyone celebrating Tupac’s resurrection anniversary at Coachella this year bc we think that deserves a bdlf Style Guide all on it’s own!). But in all seriousness, Easter also means spring fashions, pastel-coloured anything, head-to-toe florals, and foil wrapped chocolate bunnies galore. I mean, we’ve shown you some dressy fashionable spring finds that are church-ready, brunch-ready, and chocolate-stain proof. Okay, maybe that last one was a lie. Whether you are heading to church or not, there are lots of excuses to dress up (I mean come on, we make excuses to dress up EVERYDAY so no ‘buts’ people!). And we definitely look so borderlinefab, somebody will roll over in their grave. Wait, did that come out right?
Stay tuned all week cuz we’re dishing out more Easter-weekend fashion advice. Warning: Pastel Colour Overload.
