This short trip to Austin was months in the planning because when you work a real job, it’s hard to get time off without getting dirty looks from employers and co-workers. Ugh! Well, we finally made it happen. Especially because our good friend is leaving Austin at the end of the summer to start her new job in Ohio, and… well – i’m just going to say it – we aint’ going to Ohio.
And let’s admit that it’s not a successful trip anywhere, unless you get felt up. In this case, by the TSA. TSA (to alice): “Excuse me ma’am the machine didn’t detect your ‘Bedazzle.'” Pat down ensued. Yes; that really happened.
Looking fab while traveling is definitely a challenge (sounds like a book deal waiting to happen). We had a few non-fab obstacles to overcome:
- significant climate change – austin was considerably cooler than expected. good thing we’re experts at overpacking.
- layovers – there’s nothing sexier than waking up from your 1st flight, wiping the drool/rubbing nap imprints – off your face, and running to catch your next flight. hotness.
- late landing – touch down at 11pm, downtown by 11:30pm.
But despite all this, we persevered and fought through the sweatpants yearnings and made it through the day – borderline fab and all.
Stay tuned for more Austin pics this week!
