We’re what’s up, SUP!
I finally popped my SUP cherry (which I recently learned stands for Stand Up Paddleboard). And it was SO MUCH FUN. And scary. But mostly fun. As someone who loves yoga, yoga on a paddleboard provides a whole new level of balance challenges. Who ever thought of this crazy (and genius) idea of doing yoga on a 10×3 ft board over a mildly rocky sea? There may be nothing more tranquil (and simultaneously terrifying) about being out there surrounded by beautiful nature. (my thought bubble: don’t think about sharks, don’t think about sharks, don’t think about sharks. does that look like a fin to you?). Thankfully with my beginner’s luck I did not topple overboard this time and become shark bait. All irrational fears aside, if you are ever the slightest bit curious about SUP, I highly recommend it! Even if you are a landlubber like me. Still not convinced? Here are 10 more reasons why you should try yoga on a stand up paddleboard.
